Great news for our youngest TopoMania players: the Race game is back! You can cruise around again in the Formula 1 car. It's a delightful way to get to know a map better.
Several other improvements have been made as well. Below is an overview of the key changes:
- Exams now start without colors and without labels.
- In the editor, you can now designate whether a shape should be part of the exercise or act as a background element
- Worksheets now display all shapes on the map exactly as they appear during exercises
- In the fill-in and multiple choice exercises, the requested locations are highlighted more clearly
- Maps load faster
A huge thank you to everyone who provided feedback for this update! Your input is greatly appreciated. If you have any suggestions or spot any bugs, please let us know on the forum or send us an email.
New Features & Improvements

New features and improvements have arrived!
First of all, the new Worksheet Builder is now available. With this tool, you can create printable worksheets or posters from any map.
During gameplay, a new option is now available to toggle off the base map. Several users had requested this feature. This allows you to play exercises just like in the classic TopoMania, without a background base map.
In addition, the following improvements were made:
- Water points can now be moved on the map. Very handy for repositioning seas and oceans
- The Start button for exams has been relocated and is now easier to reach
- A bug in the exam tool that occasionally caused names to be revealed has been resolved
- The thumbnails generated for your custom maps are now much more detailed
Welcome to the renewed TopoMania

We kick off 2021 with a revamped TopoMania. The site has been renewed, and the practice apps are brand new as well.
Here is what has changed:
- The site has been modernized and refreshed
- The map practice application has been completely redesigned
- The map editor has been completely redesigned
- You can now convert your account to a school/group account yourself
- The worksheet builder is not yet updated; the Flash version will remain online for now
Work is underway to update the worksheet generator as well. Until the new version is ready, you can still use the existing Flash version. To do so, you will need a browser that can still run Flash, such as Internet Explorer.

TopoMania Update

At the end of this year, in December, the TopoMania website will undergo a major update. Here are the most important changes you can expect:
- The website will get a fresh new design
- The manual request for school accounts will disappear; everyone will be able to convert their account to a school account themselves (and switch back to standard if desired)
- The Flash applications will no longer be available and will be completely replaced by JavaScript applications
- The Race game and the Shooting game will be temporarily unavailable (they will return later)
- The exercises will also be playable on tablets
The site will be offline for a few days during the update. I am planning this during holiday periods as much as possible.
It will be a major overhaul, but our goal is to minimize any inconvenience for you as users.

Highscores

At TopoMania, we take highscores very seriously! Every day, dedicated players do their best to achieve a great score on a map. Of course, they do it to master the map, but a spot on the highscore list is something to be proud of too.
That is why we take strict action against cheaters. If you create a map designed to manipulate highscores, the map will be removed. If someone repeatedly attempts to cheat, their entire account will be deleted, along with their other maps. Ultimately, you may even be banned from creating a new account.
So if you want a top spot on the leaderboard, make sure to achieve it fairly.
